Moore Stephens’ Shardé Williams listed in Top 35 Under 35

Shardé Williams, in-house legal counsel at Moore Stephens Jersey, has been named as one of the 2018 ePrivateclient Channel Islands Top 35 Under 35.

Inclusion in the Top 35 Under 35 has been a significant accolade to receive since it was established as the premier list of future movers and shakers in the private client sector ten years ago. To mark this milestone, ePrivateclient has launched a new Channel Islands-focused version of the list to recognise the growing number of young and upcoming stars in the islands’ private client advisory professions.

Ms Williams was particularly recognised by ePrivateclient for her role in leading Moore Stephens through the introduction of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). For all businesses this was a period of significant change, both internally as well as facing the external pressures of legal and regulatory advances.

Ms Williams is a dual qualified lawyer: a barrister (non-practising) and practising solicitor of England and Wales.  She is a certified GDPR Practitioner, a member of the Jersey Data Protection Association and became the first (and currently only) delegate to receive the highest achieving mark of 100% in her GDPR Foundation course.  This meant that she was well placed to advise and guide the Moore Stephens’ leadership team of the legal requirements to ensure client privacy and clients’ data rights are protected.

Previously, Ms Williams’ in-depth knowledge of the business proved invaluable when the Jersey business moved from a partnership to a limited company structure.

Angus Taylor, managing director at Moore Stephens said: “Since joining us in 2014, Shardé’s skills, knowledge and expertise have seen her become an instrumental and invaluable member of our team. This was particularly demonstrated as we placed our focus on our clients’ privacy through our GDPR processes. We’re extremely proud of her, as this is a great accolade for her to receive and an indicator of a bright future within the private client sector.”
