Role purpose:
To be responsible for the management of a portfolio of clients together with all aspects of service delivery in consultation with the Audit Director.
Core responsibilities:
- To be responsible for managing a team of Audit Seniors and Auditors and communicating with the Audit Directors.
- To assist the Audit Director as required in completing every aspect of the audit process.
- Review of the Statutory Annual Reports and Financial Statements including monthly, quarterly and year-end financial statements.
- Coach and develop all staff members working with the team.
- Communicate effectively at all levels for the benefit of the clients and the Firm as a whole.
- To complete up to manager review within audit files in CCH.
- Ensure and enforce excellent technical standards in all work.
- To undertake occasional ‘ad hoc’ assignments for clients of the Firm and for the Audit Directors.
- Responsible for managing your own client base and workload, with the support of senior team members and for assisting more junior team members.
- Overseeing completion of take on procedures (engagement letters, setup of Xero, Quickbooks etc).
- Overseeing creating and maintaining client files on office systems (i.e. CCH).
- Overseeing creating and maintaining client records in database and practice management system (i.e. CCH).
- Ensuring all deadlines are met. Clearing and filing all your emails and post on a daily basis.
- Attend board meetings as an observer and gain an understanding of the company’s corporate governance framework.
- Work alongside Audit Managers to ensure a consistency of approach across the Channel Islands and Madeira.
- To lead on key projects for the business relating to software, audit approach, business efficiency and similar matters as requested by the Audit Directors.
Technical / Professional / Qualification Requirements:
- CGI/ STEP Diploma or equivalent completed; Studying to obtain CGI/ STEP Professional or equivalent if not already achieved (JFSC Minimum is Hold Table 5 qualification plus a minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience); or
- Qualified Accountant (by qualification through the Professional body); or
- Qualification relevant to function; and
- Evidence of Continuous Professional Development; and
- Management Training undertaken; and
- People Management skills and experience
