Role purpose:

To act as the Audit Senior in undertaking audits of financial statements or other assurance work.

Core responsibilities:

  • Work under the oversight of Audit Director and Audit Manager.
  • Work as part of a bigger team on larger audit assignments.
  • Lead external audit engagements for a portfolio of clients, from planning to completion, conduct risk assessments and develop tailored audit strategies.
  • Understand and act on instructions.
  • Evaluate clients’ internal controls and identify risks or weaknesses.
  • Ensure audits are conducted in compliance with IFRS/GAAP and relevant auditing standards.
  • Perform substantive testing and analytical procedures to assess financial statement accuracy.
  • Produce comprehensive and accurate audit files and working papers.
  • Draft clear and comprehensive audit reports with findings and recommendations.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, addressing queries and providing professional guidance.
  • Supervise, mentor and review the work of junior auditors and associates.
  • Support managers and partners in client meetings and business development activities.
  • Stay up to date with regulatory changes, accounting standards, and audit methodologies.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Analyse audit findings and prepare clear, concise and actionable audit reports.
  • Communicate audit results and recommendations to management and stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of auditing standards, accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
  • Undertake and satisfactorily complete all professional development training required by the company.

Technical / Professional / Qualification Requirements:

  • Qualified Accountant (by qualification through the Professional body); or
  • Functional Qualification relevant to function; and
  • Evidence of Continuous Professional Development
