Farewell, Yvonne!

Farewell, Yvonne!

6 Jan 25

We mark the end of Yvonne Topping's journey with Moore Stephens with great sadness but also great pride.

Sam Bird, CEO, says, "It is amazing to think that Yvie has been with us for nearly forty years. We are both sad and delighted that she has decided it is time for her to hang up her Moore Stephens hat, and we wish her a long and happy retirement.

People create culture, continuity and familiarity, none more so than Yvie. She was often the first person that many would see every day, and you would always be greeted by a smiling, positive and caring friend who influenced colleagues more than they realised. Thank you, we will all miss you."

Yvonne provided her own parting message for the Moore Stephens team, which we gladly share below:

Moore Stephens and me!

My Moore Stephens (MS) career began in October 1985 as a Secretary in the Co Sec Dept (think mobiles the size of bricks; 'We are the World' and 'Say You Say Me' were chart-toppers). Next, I worked as Secretary/PA to one of the previous Partners, an eclectic role, including organising our Annual Charity Dinner, meeting many of the Greats of International Rugby and raising thousands for local charities. Then, a change in direction, working as Secretary/PA in the Funds Department before eventually becoming part of the Reception team.

So, some thirty-seven fabulous Christmas Parties/numerous social events later, I find myself on the eve of new adventures, including, travel in Europe/UK/Ireland. Volunteering for Grace Trust is a joy and I will continue supporting the wonderful folks dependent on this life-changing charity. Inspired by MS Social Ambition’s initiative “To the Moon & Back Challenge,” walking remains part of my work-out routine, along with the gym, Pilates/Zumba and Irish dancing! I have made a pact to make time for guitar practice and set a new challenge; learning to play Mandolin!

Spending precious time with my family is a massive priority as well as coffee dates with great friends. I will not be bored; “chilling/relaxing” does not feature in my vocabulary!

The toughest thing is saying goodbye to quite the best bunch of people; I have watched so many staff members mature into superb professionals/terrific human beings! So, I’ll be saying farewell, thanks for the giggles/hugs/friendship/dancing and making MS my truly happy place! I will stay in touch as it’s our astonishing community which has kept me with MS for a lifetime! Lots of love, stay safe and be happy; your friend Yvie x

It's been a privilege to have you on our team, Yvie, we'll miss you and we wish you well.
