The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride

Jon Gallichan

On Sunday 22nd of May, I will once again be riding in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride.

This year, hundreds of thousands of riders around the world will be riding stunning motorcycles in dapper clothing on the same day for men's health. The goal for 2022 is to raise awareness and £5m for prostate cancer research and men’s mental health on behalf of charity partner, Movember.

Last summer I met up with an old University friend in the UK, Big Nick the bodybuilder, after a gap of about 20 years, and he was extremely fit and healthy. 4 weeks later, he discovered he had prostate cancer. After a traumatic operation and intensive therapy, he finally got all clear in February after a terrifying 6-month ordeal and losing nearly 5 stone. So, this year’s ride has a particular significance for me.

I plan to ride my Royal Enfield Bullet and sidecar (assuming it starts) as part of the Jersey group of around 50 bikes. You can follow my progress and support me here.
