Role purpose:

As part of the senior management team, the Associate Director is responsible for the efficient and effective ‎delivery of a range of trust and corporate services whilst maintaining the Firm's ‎professional standards and meeting all legal and regulatory requirements.  This will include oversight of the operational activity for in-house managed entities, including the Firm’s more complex client relationships, and development of the function at a strategic level.‎ 

Core responsibilities:

  • Provision of a first-class service in the management of client structures and the delivery of client objectives.
  • Identify and develop solutions and policies to meet the needs of clients, anticipating technical problems when dealing with client issues, thinking laterally and creatively to find solutions and, where necessary, seeking expert advice in order to implement agreed changes across the business.
  • Serve as an “A” class Signatory for the Firm and Director on its Secondary Licensee companies, plus Client Company boards as needed.
  • Seek to develop existing client relationships wherever possible and building positive relationships with other professional advisers and contacts in order to promote new business opportunities for the Firm.
  • Manage operational risks in accordance with the Firm’s professional standards and regulatory requirements, ensuring a complete understanding of and adherence to the Firm’s risk management policies and procedures and, where appropriate, be proactive in identifying and proposing improvements.
  • Lead one of the Firm’s administration teams and in doing so promote teamwork, develop people and encourage development across the business through inspired and motivational management and leadership, ensuring that appropriate information is cascaded to all levels of staff, that appropriate training is identified and delivered and that appraisals are effectively carried out to ensure effective performance.
  • Providing a resource of expert services, support and knowledge, and working with others in the business to develop and implement new products and services to meet client needs and increase productivity and revenue.
  • Alongside the senior management team, regularly analyse business performance, proposing and implementing actions to stay in line with budget and focusing on results-driven performance.
  • Undertake reviews of financial records (ledgers/trial balances) before the production of the Financial Statements commences, in order to assist with accuracy and timely production of the Financial Statements.
  • Building and maintaining positive, collaborative and effective relationships with all other staff members.
  • Lead and manage change initiatives where identified, ensuring that they deliver to time and quality standards.

Technical / Professional / Qualification Requirements:

  • CGI/ STEP Professional or equivalent completed; or
  • Qualified Accountant with post-qualification experience; or
  • High-level Qualification relevant to function; and
  • Ideally 10+ years’ experience working in fiduciary/corporate services
  • Evidence of Continuous Professional Development; and
  • Broader Management Qualification and/or experience; and
  • Extensive People Management skills and experience
