Moore Stephens Channel Islands and Moore Stephens Monaco are proud to sponsor the new Victor Hugo Retail Trail, that brings together local businesses and community spaces across St Peter Port to celebrate Guernsey’s rich cultural heritage.
Launched on Friday 10 April, the trail invites islanders and visitors to explore the town through the lens of Victor Hugo’s time in Guernsey, highlighting the shops, institutions and everyday locations that formed part of his life during his 15-year exile on the island.
Sam Bird, CEO of Moore Stephens, said: ‘We are proud to continue our collaboration with the Victor Hugo Centre on these trail initiatives, which are wonderful examples of how Guernsey’s business community can work together with charities to create something of lasting value. As well as offering a fascinating insight into Victor Hugo’s life in Guernsey, the trails provide an engaging and accessible experience for both islanders and visitors to enjoy throughout the year.’
The new trail builds on the success of the original Victor Hugo walking routes launched last year, which Moore Stephens also supported.
Visual information boards will be installed across participating locations, allowing visitors to follow the trail at their own pace and discover the places that shaped daily life in St Peter Port during Hugo’s residence.
