As the Tax Director at Moore Stephens in Jersey, Giles oversees all tax compliance work for the growing business. He has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry and has expertise in not only Jersey tax matters but also UK tax matters for non-UK resident trusts, companies and individuals.
His specialisms include
• Jersey personal, company and trust tax
• UK stockpiled gains and relevant income calculations for non-UK resident trusts
• UK income tax returns (trusts or individual) and corporation tax returns for non-UK resident landlords owning UK property
• Annual Tax on Enveloped Dwellings (ATED) returns for non-UK resident companies
• VAT returns for non-UK resident companies owning commercial real estate in the UK
• Non-Resident Capital Gains Tax (NRCGT) returns/Corporation tax returns in connection with the sale of UK property by non-UK residents (trusts, companies or individuals)
• UK 10 yearly charge and exit charge inheritance tax returns for offshore trusts
Giles has a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Geography and is a Fellow of the Association of Tax Technicians – the leading professional body for those providing UK tax compliance services.
Outside work Giles has a passion for taking on projects that need a bit of TLC. He enjoys taking his recently renovated MGB roadster on classic car runs. He also enjoys dog walks and watching movies with his family.
